Ground Breaking Service

The Ground Breaking Service surpassed all expectations. Everyone at the workday did a great job to get the property looking sweeeeet! I loved the outdoor set up under the pavilion. Josh and Heath camped out (sleeping on the drum stage) on Saturday night to keep an eye on everything. (I think Heath is pushing for a promotion. Josh is just a great guy.) I was glad that so many people showed up. Someone said that it was a little like the movie "Field of Dreams" where the cars just kept coming into the driveway. I appreciate Bodie and Randy patrolling traffic.

The band sounded great. The opening song, "Praise Song" (Old School Third Day), is one of my favorite songs of all-time. Thanks Kyle. It was great to close the worship set with "God of This City". That song pretty much summarizes how we are trusting God to DOMINATE our community with the love of Jesus Christ.

Seeing the entire outer footprint of the building lined with people was quite powerful. I still can't get over how big that building is. Man! I'm looking forward to reading all the stakes and seeing what people are trusting God to do through the new building. I think we are going to make some sort of art piece with the stakes.

It was fun to hang out after the service and have lunch together. God held off the bad weather for us. The guys "guarding the grill" did a great job. They said that they would be fine with having our service out at the property every week and using our rent money to pay for food. If that were the case, we could grill out a lot more than hot dogs and Bubba Burgers. I'm thinking filet mignon.

Well, it's going to be neat to see the construction process begin. I think we are going to set up a website to show progress. I guess we could give daily updates on the Access Graystone Blog. I hope everyone is as excited and ready to move into Act 2 of Graystone Church as I am.

To God be the glory,

The Pentecostal Preacher Jonathan Howes

PS Steve Ernst, my new best friend, let us borrow a portable AC unit for our bedroom. Nothing against being a bunk buddy with Joelan, but it was nice to get back in my king-size bed.
