Pet Sins

Today's passage: James 1:12-15

Sin is not to be taken lightly. There are no such things as little sins or "pet sins". We should never become comfortable with sin in our lives. Sin should always make us uncomfortable. It should repulse us. We are to HATE sin. Sin that is left unattended and unforgiven grows. Sin begins in our hearts, moves into our minds, and comes out in our attitudes and actions. Sin expands. Sin gets bigger and badder. Sin can take over our lives. It can control us. We need to nip it in the bud as soon as possible. The longer it lingers in our lives, the more erosion and corruption it causes.

Sin splatters. It not only affects us but the people around us...our friends and family. We need to deal ruthlessly with it. It is not a game. It is dangerous business. Sin tries to take us down. It can ruin our lives. It can ruin our families. It can ruin our church. When sin grows up and fully matures, it leads to death!

What "pet sins" do you need to kick to the curb before they destroy you and your home?

PS On a more positive note, Joelan and I went to visit Matt last night. He was wide awake and very alert during our entire visit. It was so good see him "fully" out of the coma (I'm no doctor or expert). He talked to us during our entire visit. In fact, he was a bid of a chatter box. The only problem was that he spoke in a whisper, and we could not understand what he was saying. He smiled at Joelan several times. We watched a little baseball together. Praise God! Please continue to pray for a full recovery for Matt.

"Life is Short" and "Sins" are something that WE should look deep into EVERYDAY...Life is short; therefore, do a good deed daily and that would feed your soul...Sins; life is to precious to have Sins negatively impact your life, positive things/thinking/action bring prositive results...

Jonathan, great inspirational topics this week...
