If I were to Twitter my life over the last 24 hours, it would look something like this (approx times):
12:15 PM several people share with me how God moved in their lives during the service
12:30 PM business meeting...100% vote to acquire the 7 acres
1:00 PM someone tells me that they want to be one of the 45 families to give $1,000 towards the 7 acres ($13,000 has been given so far)
1:15 PM jon claude calls to tell me that he is picking me up a kickin' chicken sandwich from Zaxby's
1:30 PM receive an email from someone sharing how my message spoke directly to them and they love how I am not afraid to "shoot people straight"
3:00 PM fall asleep watching the Olympics
5:15 PM read several more emails from people sharing how the service impacted them
6:05 PM arrive late to coach's meeting at bay creek park
6:15 PM alex mitchem and I slip to the back of the meeting and discuss how impactful the service was that morning. He reinforced to me that my preaching is "not a popularity contest"
7:05 PM boring baseball meeting is FINALLY over (some people take this stuff way too seriously), and I receive uniforms (Miami Hurricanes) and game balls
7:15 PM see and go talk with one of our graystone small groups who is meeting at the playground...they complain to me about the new small group structure...I tell them to go talk with Jim...they tell me that they have already whined to Jim...I tell them to deal with it or meet me in the octagon
7:21 PM offend Tana Shackleton by calling her son, Charlie, Max...she tells me that she is going to start going to Oasis Church
7:30 PM call my dad to wish him a happy 69th birthday...we talk about how he is going to DOMINATE the over 70's tennis world next year
7:45 PM hold Jessie
8:00 PM eat a PB&J
8:15 PM stroke a few tennis balls with Joelan (I can now have a normal rally with him. He will be the 2nd best tennis player at Graystone in 6 months.)
9:00 PM Rusty and Eric (David) drive up and whine about not catching any fish
9:15 PM Rusty throws his name in the hat to be head ground's keeper at Graystone Park and Community Center
9:30 PM Jennifer tells me that I am stinking up the bed and need a shower
9:45 PM kiss Jessie goodnight
9:55 PM read a couple of more emails about how the service impacted people's lives
6:45 AM wake Joelan and Julia up for school
7:05 AM spend some time with the Father
7:45 AM read another email of how the service freed someone from guilt...he is getting sober and joining Celebrate Recovery (he also said that he saw me at the ball park last night...you never know who is watching)
8:00 AM Pre-construction meeting at the new property with Gwinnett County and Garrard (of the 7 men present, I am the only one without business cards, work boots, or a pick up truck)
8:50 AM Divine appointment with Russell and Jerry from the Georgian Bank
9:45 AM Russell treats me to an All Star Breakfast at Waffle House
11:15 AM read another email from someone impacted by yesterday's service...he is trusting God to overcome his addiction of cigarettes
11:45 AM offer Dustin 4 free Braves tickets and a parking pass (these are still available for today's game if anyone wants them)
Aren't you guys glad that I do not Twitter?
God is good!
