Well, we are now officially going OLD SCHOOL for this Sunday's service at Graystone. Not only is the band going unplugged and singing SEVEN (7) old hymns of the faith, but I am now preaching a SEVEN (7) point sermon. Most of the time, my sermons do not have any points (Hopefully, they are not pointless.), but this Sunday I have SEVEN (7) points, and they are alliterated with P's. By the way, here is my main passage for Sunday, if you want to prepare for the message. And you might want to bring something to take notes, because there is not enough room on the bulletin.
In the spirit of Hymn Sunday, I told Julia that I was going to wear a sports coat on Sunday. At first, she was confused because she thought I was going to wear my Under Armour raincoat. Then, after I explained what a sports coat was, she said and I quote, "If you are all dressed up and Kyle and the band are singing old hymns, what about first-time visitors? They are going to think that we are a church for old-timers." Sometimes, it is really funny what comes out of the mouths of church planter's kids.
God is good!
