Earlier this week, I was running on empty. I literally coasted into my garage on Sunday night. Fortunately, I had a gas can in my basement for my lawn mower. I was able to fill up on Monday afternoon. I have never been so happy in my life to pay $4.19 a gallon. Why was I running on empty? Well, maybe I was irresponsible. Maybe I did not want to pay the high price for the cost of gas. (I am a bit of a cheapskate.) Maybe I didn't want to wait in the long lines over the weekend.
Spiritually speaking, many of us are running on empty. We are coasting on fumes at the end of each day. Why don't we take time each week to refuel at church? Why don't we fill our spiritual tanks each morning through God's word and prayer? Well, many of us do not want to pay the cost. We do not want to invest the time needed to "Be still and know God".
Are you running on empty? When are you going to take time each day to fill up? Are you committed to being spiritually refueled each Sunday at church?
