Malfunctioning Microphone

Well, it has been a while since my last post. Some might think that I have had the post-election blues. Well, that's not it. Honestly, God has given me a real peace about the election. My hope is in Jesus Christ, so I'm feeling pretty good about our community, country and world. Actually, I have been sick over the last few days. I haven't had the strength to do much and generating a profound blog takes a lot more energy than one might think.

Anyway, I am feeling much better today. But my sermon yesterday was a little rough. I was not on my "A game". My body was weak, my mind was overly medicated, and I had to deal with a microphone straight from the pit of Hell. But you know what? If God can get his message through the mouth of a donkey, He can get his message through me. I have found over the years, that when I am weak, He is strong. And it is the times when I think my delivery was horrible that God uses it the most. Because you what? It is not about the messenger. It is about the message. The gospel has the power to save whether it is communicated with eloquent words or not. Yesterday, if one person crossed over the bridge to eternal life (Heaven), it was worth me crawling out of bed, showing off my bald spot, and going toe to toe with a malfunctioning microphone.

So, now that I have taken away some of your excuses. Who are you going to share the "good news" with today? Remember, even if you have to stumble through the gospel message, God can use it to change someone's life for all eternity. Maybe today at lunch or dinner, you can share the bridge diagram on a napkin with a friend. Or if you are a teacher or a student, maybe you can share it on your marker board at school. Or if you are a geek, maybe you can share it on your iphone or send it via text message.

Glory to God,
Johnny

On a more serious note - very very powerful message. Great Job!
