The Greatest Team in the World

As you can see from my previous posts, our staff team had a great time on our planning retreat. We get a ton of work done on these little getaways, and but we also have a lot of fun. I feel blessed to have the greatest church staff team in the world. I would put them up against any megachurch staff team (not that it's a competition or anything). The success of Graystone Church boils down to two things: the favor of God and our incredible team, which includes not only the staff but the elders, servant leaders and volunteers. Graystone is a total team effort, and we have the greatest team in the world. As a leader, I am only as successful as the people around me. THANK YOU so much if you are a part of the Graystone Team!

One of the benefits of planting a church is getting to hand pick your staff team. This is one of the reasons that I planted a church (Tomorrow, I will share my top 5 reasons for planting Graystone Church. Some of them will probably surprise you.). I have had the privilege of recruiting and personally hiring every person on our staff team. Some (I.e. Jim) joined the team immediately and others, like Kyle, turned me down 10 times before FINALLY accepting the invitation. As the church grows larger, I will not be responsible for hiring every staff position. The other staff will hire their own teams and challenge people to work in their areas of ministry. But it was very important to me, and still is, to be able to build our leadership team. I love each of these guys and am honored that we are doing life and ministry together.

God is good!
Johnny

PS Graystone not only has the greatest children's pastor in the world, but also the most beautiful!
