Act-ing in Faith This Coming Sunday

Well, God has laid something really big on my heart. As I was studying Acts 3 last week in my personal quiet time, God spoke to me. It was not an audible voice. It was one of those still small voices from God, but it came in loud and clear. As we have been studying through the book of Acts, we read over and over that God healed people. In Acts 3, God uses Peter and John to heal a lame man.

It got me to praying and thinking. If Graystone Church is going to model ourselves after the book of Acts, what do we do with healing? We can't just skip over it. Do we believe that God can heal people? Do we believe that God still does miracles?

Well, LOOOOONG story short, God has laid on my heart this upcoming Sunday to preach on "The Power to Heal". Then, during the service, invite anyone and everyone who needs healing (and believes that God has the power to heal them) to come forward, let us lay hand on them, and pray that GOD WOULD HEAL THEM. Now, I do not think that I have the gift of healing. But I do believe that God has the power to heal. And it is Biblical to pray for those who need healing. And we have several people at Graystone Church who need to experience the healing power of God.

So, anyone who is sick (illness/disease), injured or addicted, we are going to ask them to come down front, and we will have a time for the church to pray for them. Now, I do not know what the results of Sunday will be. But I believe that God has lead me to do this. And I have the full support of the staff and elders.

Now, believe me my friend, this is way out of my comfort zone. I have never done anything like this. But God is leading me to do it, and I am going to ACT on it in faith. So, I need you to be praying with me. Pray that God would increase our faith. Pray that those who need healing would have the courage to believe and come forward. Pray that God would move at Graystone like never before. And come Sunday expecting God to do great things.

Don't Go to Church....Be the Church,
Johnny

The power of healing "by man" went away with the Apostles.

God still does miracles and healing is still done by God but you must have received it by faith "according to the will of God."

People can gather together and and lay hands praying for one another that's ill or in need of healing, but will need to have the unwavering faith in God's Word that He will heal him.

The main part of all trials and tribulations are for our growth in our faith believing every single word in the Bible is a promise we believe without doubt.

During these times the main focus is to find out why God has allowed you to be in the situation you are in and find the glory there is to glorify His Almight name!

Romans 8:28 is a promise that all Christians need to "study" word for word and write in their hearts with full understanding and when times of hardship comes they will know why and what they have to do during these times. This is a verse so often used and when hardship has hit a person, it is quoted then with less effect because the person is already in bad times and harder for them to open their hreats for full understanding from the Holy Spirit.

We are God's children and He wants the best for us. If it's good or bad to us, it all be for our good according to the purpose God has chosen us for.

The power of prayer is so under estimated within the church and true believers. When praying and Jesus in the middle with "pure & true hearts" healing will be done if it's Gods will.

God has 2 wills, permissive and submissive. Submissive is if it's prayer that can make it happen He can choose to hear one and answer it. But if it's His permissive will no matter how much prayer is given it will not be answered for He has a purpose for not healing. The has only been one man in the Bible God added years onto his life through prayer and if studied these were the worse years of his life. His name was Hezikiah.

This is where as believers our testimony in all trials is to be our shinning moment. In giving to all believers and un-believers showing we make the best of our situation even if it's time to come home to see the Lord Jesus!

In leaving a faith testimony with no fear of dying and glorifying God to the utmost in all until the last breath is the best testimony a child of God can give.

Do not never be mislead that there is one man on earth that can heal you, it's only by the power of the Holy Spirit according to Gods will and your faith.

I pray that all burdened hearts will come forth in this coming service and repent first of all unconfessed sin with relationships mended. If not it will only quence the Holy Spirit.

I pray that all bodies be restored, mainly the body of Christ church as He died for it to be and not for what man sees it as. He has given us instructions not to interpret His word to suit our needs and our times. The word of God never changes and the delievery of it shouldn't either.

We should never deliever God's word in a wordly fashion to make it appealing. It should be done prayerfully with conviction that all hearts that have not been truely born again, or the ones living regularly in unconfessed sin hits them so hard they accept Jesus Christ as Saviour or repent and never turn back of their sins and follow God commandments as we are instructed.

I pray there will be a Holy Spirit revival in your church this Sunday and restoration as never seen before!

Do all be for the glory of God!

Matt Harvie will be coming to graystone this Sunday. This will be a special time for our church family to pray for him.

That is Great News! We have not stopped praying for Matt and his family...

No cloud can overshadow a true Christian but his faith will discern a rainbow in it. --

What service will he be attending on Sunday?

Kellie is planning to bring Matt to the 11:00. Not sure if all the kids will be able to come?

There is no question that the discussion over healing is one of the most controversial and difficult subjects for evangelical believers. It would be presumptuous of any of us to claim the power to heal. The question isn’t whether God heals, because He does. The question is not about God’s sovereignty, because He is sovereign. The question really isn’t whether God can remove sin, because He has. The question really is do we believe in the power of prayer? Do we believe that if we pray, God hears, and He cares? Do we also believe that our prayers matter to God? Do we then believe that our prayers can move God to action? Two passages come to mind that pretty much go beyond dispensational arguments. The first is II Kings 20:1-6 in which God heard Hezekiah’s prayer and healed him. The next is Revelation 8:1-5, in which the prayers of the saints are poured out on the altar before God. Do our prayers matter? The answer is absolutely yes. Can we affect change? The answer again is yes, in God’s will. So why pray? Because God commands us to pray continually and it pleases Him. Philippians 4:6 “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, let your request be made known unto God.” Sunday will be a great service, and we will pray for God’s healing. And if we don’t pray, who will?
