22 brave graystonians participated in the ESPN College Bowl Mania and believe or not, but a high school kid by the name of Will Kimmel (his dad finished #6) came out on top with 353 points. Pickmaster Shack (Don Shackleton) tied Will for first, and the Mississippi Mullets finished 3rd losing by 1 point with 352 points. Basically, I was the first loser. Thanks to everyone who joined the fun.
Here are my NFL picks for the Divisional Weekend:
Panthers over Cardinals (blowout)
Giants over Eagles (a coin flip)
Ravens upsetting Titans (Carter weighed in on this one.)
Steelers over Chargers (not as close as the experts think)
BTW, I was 1-3 last week in the Wild Card games, so don't be using my picks to place any bets. You don't need to be betting anyway unless it is for Wild West Shrimp at Longhorn, a hot dog at the turn, or having to preach in a Georgia Bulldogs shirt if LSU loses.
Speaking of the Bayou Bengals, I'm not sure how LSU can get snubbed out of the AP Top 25 after embarrassing #22 Georgia Tech 38-3 in their own backyard on New Year's Eve. Too bad college football does not have a playoff system, because LSU was obviously the best team in the bowl games. And how did Texas Tech get ranked ahead of Ole Miss?
And finally, I'm not a Florida fan, but how can you not pull for Tim Tebow? I love his passion to win and how he takes a bold stand for Jesus Christ. He is a great role model for our kids and us big kids. If I was an NFL owner, he would be my first round draft pick. In fact, I'm praying that he will be a Mississippi Mullet one day.
I'm out!
