Lessons in Evangelism (Part 3)

When it comes to evangelism, witnessing, sharing your faith, fishing for men/women, spreading the good news (whatever you want to call it), how do you define "success"? Is your "success" defined by how many people come to know Christ personally? Is your "success" determined by your number of conversions? The obvious answer is a big fat NO.

Our "success" in evangelism is not determined by the results. Only God can cause the results. We cannot change someone's heart. Only God can do that. He simply asks us to be faithful to share the good news of Jesus. If we do our part, God will do his part. Actually, even if we do not do our part, God will still do his part. The question is, "Do we want to be a part of the blessing?"

Here is a good definition for "successful evangelism":

Successful evangelism is sharing the gospel in the power of the Holy Spirit and leaving the results to God.

Are you being successful in evangelism based on the above definition?
