Monday Morning Download

The Movie Night was a huge success as we packed out the house to watch the movie, Fireproof. We were able to raise over $1,100 for Summer Youth Camp. T-shirts are still on sale at the Resource Center with all of the proceeds going to the Youth Fund. We probably would have made another 50 bucks or so on popcorn, but Steve forget to plug in the popcorn maker. Technology can be complicated for us old guys.

Great service yesterday as we kicked off the new Fireproof series. The band nailed the old Bryan Adams 80's love ballad, "(Everything I do) I Do It For You". I'm not sure if ya'll realize how good "Kyle and the Band (not official name)" are. Candace on keys, Art on keys/electric guitar, Kyle on bass (this was a first), Jason on drums, and Ryan Brooks belting out the lead vocals...I believe that was the loudest ovation ever at Graystone.

The ovation was especially loud in the 9:30 service, because there was not an empty seat in the house. A few folks stood up in the back the entire service. Well, to create more space, we have ordered new "extremely comfortable" chairs. Hopefully, they will be here by this Sunday. This should give us 100 more seats in the main auditorium. If you are keeping score at home, that is 36% more seats per service. Instead of starting a 3rd service, we have decided to create more "empty seats at optimal times". So, keep inviting your friends. We are making room for them.

And on a final note, Heath stole the show (AGAIN). I love that kid. He is hilarious. And God is going to provide him with a suitable helper (Genesis 2:18) in His perfect timing. I love the fact that we have the freedom at Graystone to balance out the service with a great worship set, strong Bible teaching, an entertaining feature song that supports the message, creative visuals/video, fellowship and humor. I am praying that ALL of our marriages at Graystone are strengthened through the Fireproof series.

Here is my favorite picture of Heath from yesterday. The combination of fireplace in the background, unbuttoned frilly shirt (where did that come from?), rose in mouth and facial expression is priceless. Enjoy (comments are not only welcomed but encouraged):
