With all the rain, I have noticed tons of facebook activity, so I thought I would post a little Saturday special random blog for those of you with cabin fever. It is strange not spending the weekend at the ball field. But I am enjoying the free time and a break from the action.
I went and worked out this morning at Bodyplex. I think all the muscleheads and "those who have had some work done" workout ALL DAY on Saturdays. BTW, I have never had any work done, except that I have a dead person's (supposedly he was young, athletic and could jump real high) patella tendon serving as my right knee's anterior cruciate ligament.
I actually worked out with more weight on the bench press today than I have in 15 years. My right pectoral is still shaking. Next time I decide to load up the bar for my final set, I am going to get a spotter. I figured I could get two reps and after I finished my second rep (with Alive from P.O.D. blaring through my ipod....this is my favorite workout song), I decided to go for a 3rd rep. And the bar got stuck halfway up for what seemed like 30 seconds, and I felt like every musclehead in the joint was staring at me. I could just picture the bar sliding to one side and all the weights flying off in a loud commotion. But with all the pride I had in me and God's righteous right hand, I was able to will the bar high enough to barely secure it on the bench. Then, avoiding all eye contact with anyone, I rotated my right shoulder up and down as if I had an old war injury or something.
Today's lessons:
1. Get a spotter, workout buddy, accountability partner.
2. Don't try and keep up with the muscleheads (or The Jones' or the "In" crowd).
Well, I hope you enjoyed this random Saturday special. I am so pumped about tomorrow's message that I may not sleep tonight. God truly does have the whole world in His hands.
See you tomorrow (rain or shine)...let's pack God's house,
Johnny
PS I'm thinking about going skim boarding in my back yard. If I do, I will post a video blog.

Hi Jonanthan. Enjoy reading your blogs. My mom sent me great video the preacher showed at her church in Warner Robins. Don't know if you've seen it but it is priceless. (The Tithe Rap)
