Confessions of a Pastor

I do not like hospital visits.

I sometimes listen to the John Tesh Radio Show. Hey, "Intelligence for Life".

I eat a buffalo chicken sandwich/wrap 3 times a week.

I used to own an Indigo Girls cassette tape.

I drove an old Volvo in college.

I like watching the NBA. In fact, I would choose to watch pro sports over college sports most days of the week.

I prayed earlier this morning for Matt Shirley to meet a hot, godly babe in Charleston this weekend.

I go through a bag or two of sunflower seeds during every softball/baseball game.

I am way more into kid sports that I would like to admit.

I recently joined the iphone cult.

I STILL drink upwards of a 12 pack of diet cokes a day.

I have committed my life to fruitful labor (sharing the gospel and building up the church). Philippians 1:21-22b is my life verse.

Great blog - I love reading them all!
Just wanted to tell you that my daughter & myself have attended on Sundays for the last few months & it has been a PLEASURE. We love this church! I am FULLY content in a church for the first time in 42 years of life! (Today happens to be my 42nd birthday so I have to say 42 now- ick.) My daughter is content there because so many of her friends/classmates attend. More important, she ALWAYS remembers/comments/quotes the sermon. SHE LISTENS. And she is always looking to download the music/songs. We get so much out of your sermons and your band's music. The band is top-notch, by the way... It makes us happy and we always tell our friends/family how happy we are to have found a church that is "real".

Also, I just want to mention that the non-judgmental, casual attitude, casual dress code means SO MUCH to people like me. I am so grateful to have found a church that TRULY means "come as you are". PLEASE don't let that change when you get into the new, nicer building! I am a stay at home mom, our business is struggling, we are in a really bad financial situation, and, as lame as it sounds, the ability to attend church with shorts or jeans on, is such a relief.
THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey John,

I just saw your blog. Looks great! I don't know why you don't like being cussed out during hospital visits. What did you do? Unplug an IV or something?

Give my cousin a hug from me.

you like buffalo chicken wraps, huh? You should try the grilled buffalo chicken caesar wrap from Doc Greens (in The Avenue). It's more expensive than CFA, but trust me... it's worth the extra $.
