Back to School Party

Last Saturday, Jim and Melinda Hollandsworth lead a mission's project right in our community's backyard. They along with 20 volunteers from Graystone Church hosted a "Back to School Party" for the school aged kids of Gwinnett Estates mobile home community. They were able to give 150 kids a bag full of school supplies that included all the basics (paper, pens, pencils, notebooks, etc.).

A big THANK YOU goes out to over 30 people, some Graystoners and some not, who donated either money or school supplies to meet the needs of these under-resourced kids. Not only did the volunteers give out school supplies but they served lunch to this community that has over 200 families. The party also included face painting, games, and a juggler.

I was so encouraged to hear of these volunteers taking the initiative to be the hands and feet of Jesus in our community. Let's take more opportunities to be the church and reach out to the "least of these". Here are a few pictures from the event:
