After the First Sunday "Download"

Well, I'm not really sure where to start. I have so many thoughts and feelings about Graystone's first Sunday in the new building that there is no way for me to write them down in one blog post. If I did, I'm pretty sure most of you would not read the entire post. So, I'm going to write multiple shorter posts throughout today and each day this week as I try and process ALL that God is doing at Graystone.

Let me start by saying that the building looked INCREDIBLE! I could not believe the transformation that took place from Monday morning of last week to Sunday. It was no small miracle that we were even able to meet IN the building. As we stepped out in faith and moved out of the old warehouse, there was no guarantee that we would obtain our TCO (Temporary Certificate of Occupancy). Well, it came down to the last day (Friday), and God came through yet AGAIN. He has a way of showing Graystone His faithfulness. I am contemplating upgrading my tagline from "God is good!" to "God is GREAT!"

It was definitely in God's plans for us to meet in the building on December 6. Back to the building...the place looked INCREDIBLE! Graystone's staff team and army of volunteers came through AGAIN. A little bird told me that a couple of ladies vacuumed for 4-5 hours on Saturday morning. Wow! We have a church full of servants. Others cleaned the kid's rooms, bathrooms, burnished the stained concrete, set up chairs, decorated for CHRISTMAS...the list goes on and on. The place just looked INCREDIBLE! A big THANK YOU goes out to ALL the volunteers.

I was so proud to be standing on stage saying, "Welcome to the new home of Graystone Church!" God's house at Graystone is GREAT! Our church family is GREAT! Our God is GREAT!

Here some of the topics that I will cover in upcoming posts later today/this week: The Largest Crowd in Graystone History; I have doubled the salary of the parking team; We ordered way too few T-shirts (900), some cool T-shirt Testimonies already; What is Love? video; Kyle and the band on a massive stage..sounded great; Loved the screens; Our staff team is amazing!; The children's rooms were slammed...could there be a better problem than the Children's Ministry doubling in one week?, Welcome Team/Greeters: the massive green machine, MERRY CHRISTMAS...a holiday tree...are you kidding me?; Pray for no rain, so we can add more parking this week...golf carts would be fun; Funny seeing folks scout out their new seats; Great to see old friends there in support...I'm humbled; 4 High School Head Football Coaches...I'm rambling...check back later...God is GREAT!

It was a great day indeed, my friend, and I was humbled just to be there for it. How wonderful that it already felt like home!

Don't forget the construction company, Garrard. Without their efforts, none of this would have been possible.
