Well, it was a cold and rainy Sunday morning, but that didn't seem to slow things down (too much) at Graystone Church. I am so impressed with the number of volunteers getting here early to serve...simply AMAZING! This week, both Randy Johnson and Paul King were in uniform directing traffic...and in the freezing rain. Thanks guys! And how about that PARKING TEAM? WOW! Their performance yesterday was even better than my MS Mullets who posted a season high 145 points to thrash the K-Dawgs (Kevin Ayers) in the first round of the GFFL (Graystone Fantasy Football League) playoffs, but that is another post for another day.
Kyle and the Band rocked the house yesterday. Great worship set, and I loved the Christmas song...that's my kind of caroling. Joelan asked me last night how Shannon, lead guitarist for Echoing Angels, could make those sounds on the electric guitar, and I simply said, "I have no idea, but IT WAS AWESOME! (Chris Farley voice)". Candace and Erin sounded beautiful on the response song, "By Our Love".
The Gwinnett Estates video was a tearjerker, and Jim had a few dozen people sign up to help. Please join us in prayer because we have an opportunity to buy a trailer at Gwinnett Estates in a perfect location by the front office. It will need a ton of work, but I'm sure our Graystone volunteers will rise to the occasion. The trailer would give us a permanent presence at GE and a home base for the GE ministry.
Heath and Dustin's promo video for our two Christmas Eve Services was priceless. It really is going to be the best night of the year. I cannot wait. And The Elf clip was hilarious. I saw half of that movie last night on the USA Network before I fell asleep...too funny. (I'm not sure why I watch movies on TV with commercials when I could just pop in the DVD. Oh well, I was flipping back and forth to the Eagles vs Giants game.)
The Elf will be making a live appearance this Sunday for the Children's Christmas Program. You probably do not want to miss it. And what could be better than children singing songs about Christmas and Jesus, especially when they are our kids!!!
God is good!
Johnny
PS Check back later today. I have a few more items to "download" and some videos to post.
