Well, it's the Monday after Christmas and we all made it through. Lot's to discuss. The Christmas Eve services at graystone were the best EV-VER! I'm pretty sure no other church in the world had a Christmas Eve service quite like graystone. This year we decided to extend the service to 80 minutes and pepper is A LOT more humor and creativity. Heath and Dustin were great co-hosts. We still sung the classic Christmas songs, heard the Christmas story, and shared in the Lord Supper together, but there was MUCH MUCH MORE! Some of the highlights of the service were: Heath's "I Believe" speech and various costumes, Ryan Brooks singing "O Holy Night", and "Kyle and the Band" were phenomenal! I would still love for them to produce a Graystone Christmas Album. One of Kyle's goals in 2009 was to think about producing a CD. I think he reached his goal. Maybe in 2010 he can set a little loftier goal. If nothing else, I would love to see Candace's song, "There is Peace", get produced.
Both Christmas Eve services were packed and it was the largest crowd in the history of graystone. It looks like we will need to add a 3rd service for the 2010 Christmas Eve services. I have a few different ideas and would love to get your feedback. Check Johnny's Blog later today or tomorrow, because I will be running a poll, and you can vote on next year's Christmas Eve service times.
On a personal note, we had a big time at Christmas with our family. I was honored to have both my parents and Jennifer's parents here for our Christmas Eve services. As usual, the kid's received way too many presents, and God continues to pour out so much blessing from heaven that we do not have enough room for us. After years of begging, we finally broke down and bought Joelan a cell phone. He sent/received more that 300 texts on Christmas Day. Good thing we upgraded to the unlimited texting family plan. Julia's big gifts were a sewing machine and a Vera Bradley duffle bag. Jessie got a portable DVD player. She watched Elmo all the way home from Greenville last night.
Well, check Johnny's Blog frequently this week. I have much more to communicate here at the end of 2009. I will also be looking to get your feedback on a couple of different items pertaining to graystone and Johnny's Blog. So, please use the comment feature to voice your opinions.

A wonderful Christmas Eve at Graystone indeed, my friend. It's so nice to spend the greatest of holidays with "family" like we have at our church. Also, kudos to the youth for an awesome service (though delivered to a sparse crowd) yesterday. The future of our "family" seems bright indeed.
Yes, I heard that Dustin and the youth did a great job Sunday. I'm looking forward to watching it on video.
