Acts-ion Adventure Movie

Our DBR (Daily Bible Reading) Plan has brought us back into the NT (New Testament) and the Book of Acts. Excuse the cheezy title to this post, but the Book of Acts reads like a non-stop action adventure movie. Jesus ascends into heaven, send the Holy Spirit to empower the disciples to be witnesses, Peter preaches at Pentecost and 3000 people are saved, the church is born, some serious fellowship and worship takes place, they bodly preach the gospel, the word of God spreads rapidly, miracles are performed, persecution takes place, the Christians are scattered, the word of God spreads again and even more people are saved. This is a great book for the type A, goal-oriented, Wild at Heart, Lion Chasing, go-for-the-gusto Christian. But let's pause for a second and take a breath.

Where did the disciples get all of this COURAGE?

Acts 4:13 "When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus."

Peter and John were unschooled, ordinary men. In fact, they were lowly fisherman who had never been to high school, college or seminary. So, where did they get the courage to preach the "good news" of Jesus Christ? What was so different about their lives that was changing the world? This difference was Jesus Christ. "They took note that these men had been with Jesus."

Question: Do people see a difference in your life? Are others taking note that you have been with Jesus? The first step to becoming a "world changer" is spending time with Jesus. Your ministry will come from an overflow of your relationship with Jesus Christ.
