We had a "Super Sunday" at Graystone Church with almost 500 people in attendance and several people made decisions to come home to God. Please pray for these decisions to stick and for all the "prodigals" in our lives to one day soon experience God's love, grace and forgiveness.
The New York Giants rocked the world with a major upset of the undefeated "best team of all-time" New England Patriots. I guess this is why we "play the game". I am happy for Eli and the Mannings. Although, it should have been Favre and the Packers! I guess with the economy down, the Superbowl couldn't afford anyone more exciting than Tom Petty for the halftime show. And the Superbowl commercials were really weak this year.
Super Tuesday is tomorrow and it looks like John McCain is the Republican front runner with the endorsements of Florida, Rudy, and The Terminator. I still like Mike and will be voting for him tomorrow. Some people say that I should not vote for Huckabee because he is not electable. But I have to vote for who I think is the best candidate for President.
Our Daily Bible Reading plan has brought us back to the Old Testament and the book of Exodus. I have been blown away this week reading about the burning bush, the 10 plagues, parting of the Red Sea, the manna, and the 10 Commandments. I hope you are striving hard to stick with the Daily Bible Reading plan. It is worth it.
Speaking of sticking to a plan, let me give you my latest physical fitness update. I had a stalemate week and stayed the same at 212 pounds. I pushed hard on running/working out but blew it in the eating department.
Two thoughts on health and exercise:
1. No Pain No Gain - It is an old cliche but incredibly true. When you do not feel like waking up at 5 am to go workout, wake up. When you do not feel like going to the gym after work, GO. When you are struggling to finish the last 1/2 mile of your run, crank up your ipod to your favorite workout mix and finish strong. You will feel so much better.
2. It is OK to treat yourself to one meal a week that is not consistent with your eating plan (diet). In fact, you deserve to reward yourself at the end of the week. But it's not a good idea to blow it for the entire weekend. Well, that's my two cents on diet, exercise and weight loss.
Jennifer is now 21 weeks pregnant and we are for sure having a baby girl. Right now, we are calling her Jesslyn but the name could always change. In the 11th hour, Joelan's name changed from Joseph Luke to Joelan Charles. Please continue to pray for a healthy mom and baby.
Well, Kyle and Heath just showed up at my office and we are about to embark on some creative worship planning. I thought yesterday's music and video elements were AWESOME! "Drifter" by Decemberadio and "I'll Stand By You" by Carrie Underwood put the service over the top. Please pray that we can continue to keep the services creative, real, fresh, and meaningful. Also, the "Life Is My Movie" crew is coming over later today for a video shoot. They are making a series of videos for our next message series, CALLED!
Have a great week! Check back in a couple of days. I am going to blog about softball/baseball tryouts, Jennifer's birthday, and I can't wait to tell you how I went "Old School" on some high school kids in pick up basketball.

Thank you for the heartfelt message yesterday. Of course, as you know, it was a very personal one for me. I'm very thankful that God made sure I was there because I seriously considering skipping due to the content. Obviously God knows what is better for me than I do....I only wish He would have told me to bring a box of kleenex :)
