NYC (Part 3): Yankees Game

The highlight of our father/son trip to NYC was the Yankees Game. We took the subway to The Bronx a few hours before the game. We ate dinner at Yankee Tavern. I ordered the "double play" which was a cheeseburger, hot dog and fries. We entered Yankee Stadium way before the game to tour Monument Park and try to catch home run balls during batting practice. Joelan brought his glove.

Our seats were in right field, upper deck, and on the top row. We literally had the highest seats in the ball park. But it didn't matter. We were at Yankee Stadium for a Yankees Game in the last season before they tear down the old stadium and move into a new state of the art stadium. We saw Jeter get a hit and score. We saw Ichiro steal 2nd and 3rd base. We did the wave. The Yankees won the game. I bought Joelan a Yankees hat. He is actually wearing it to school today (field day).

PS I know that my last few blogs have not been "spiritual" but have been about my father/son trip to NYC. But, there cannot really be anything much more "spiritual" than investing your life into your #1 disciples...your kids. I encourage each of you (my faithful blog readers) to invest your lives (time, energy, money, emotions) into the people that matter most to you!

PSS They do not serve yellow mustard in NYC. They only serve spicy brown. I should know. I frequented several of the hot dog carts throughout THE CITY and hot dogs are just not the same without yellow mustard.
