Update From The Day of Prayer

I was so encouraged yesterday to know that so many people were joined together in fasting and/or prayer. I cannot wait to see and hear all that God does in and through our lives over the days, weeks, and months to come. Yesterday, I believe my faith grew even more that God can do the impossible, and He still performs MIRACLES! I especially enjoyed the lunch hour of prayer. Personally, it was nice to set aside a solid hour at the church in the middle of the day simply to focus on God. The hour flew by. I was also encouraged to see others coming to the altar of God and trusting Him to answer prayers and perform miracles.

Matt Harvie continues to progress down the long journey of healing. PRAISE GOD! His surgery to remove fluid from the brain was successful, and he has opened his eyes a few times. But, he is still in a coma. You can read Uncle Rich's assessment of where Matt is in the recovery process. Adam, one of Graystone's elders, and I were able to go to the hospital yesterday and lay hands on and pray for Matt. For some reason, I felt led by God to go to the hospital, physically touch Matt, and pray out loud in his presence for God to do a miracle in his life. I do not have the "gift of healing", but I do know that God heals. He is Jehovah Rapha, The Lord Who Heals. Kelly and the family continue to set their hope in Christ and are AMAZINGLY standing strong in their faith. Let's continue to pray for them.

This post has gotten too lengthy already but for those of you who fasted (normal or partial) yesterday, I am proud of you and your spiritual discipline. Tomorrow, I am going to blog about The Purpose and Benefits of Fasting.

Trusting God through the highs and lows of life,
Johnny
