Yesterday, we spent the day at Big Kahuna's Water Park. Good times. I also finished reading a great book, The Shack. I've now started and read the first 100 pages of a new book, Activate: Rethinking Small Groups. Jennifer thinks that my by the pool reading ought to be the Fantasy Football Preview magazine that Joelan bought me for my birthday with his own money. Well, I am gearing up for another year of MS Mullets dominance in the GFFL and FFL, but I am loving this book on small groups. It is really challenging me to reevaluate the small group structure at Graystone.
I know that I am on vacation and am NOT suppose to be "working". But God has called me to be a pastor, and I really do not view it as a "job". It is a way of life, and it is hard for me to separate myself from "who I am". But don't get me wrong. I like to work hard and play hard. (I caught some major waves on the Big Kanuna Half Pipe yesterday.) I also like to go all out on my eating and my working out...kind of...but that is another story. Anyway, I have spend a lot of time on vacation thinking, praying and reading about small groups. This Fall, we are going to make some MAJOR CHANGES at Graystone and bring small groups (and life on life discipleship) to the forefront...where they should be.
Well, we are about to eat a late lunch at Whataburger, go shopping at the outlet mall, and catch a movie, Wall-E.
