FAITH

Today's Passage: James 4:1-3

I'm not going to attempt to give you my commentary on these 3 verses. I thought Dustin did an excellent job with them during his sermon yesterday.

The big word for me this week is FAITH. I, along with many of the leaders of Graystone, have some BIG DECISIONS to make in regards to different areas of the church. Each of these decisions will require various degrees of faith. Some of the decisions are pretty small and no-brainers, and others will require a tremendous amount of faith.

I am planning to share many of these DECISIONS with the church on Sunday, August 3 in what I am calling "The State of the Church Address". (Personally, I may go with a Presidential theme on Sunday keeping my comb-over haircut and possibly wearing a suit. But do not hold me to it.) Some of the decisions that are on the table (depending on which direction we go) may not be well received by everyone. But, many times as leaders, we have to make decisions that are best for the church and not worry about trying to please everyone. If there is one thing that I have learned over the last 4 years since launching Graystone Church, it is that I cannot please everyone. So, to try and do so, only puts me in a no win situation. Anyway, please pray for me this week and for God's leading in each of these FAITH decisions--both big and small.

"Faith never knows where it is being led,
But it knows and loves the One who is leading."

Walking by faith,

PS Here is one of my favorite pics from our family vacation (Our family is not "cool" enough to take one of those beach pictures where everyone in the family is wearing a white shirt.):
