You cannot out give God!

Sometimes, I feel like my life is too much of an open book and other times, I feel like I do not share with you enough. I have been going back and forth for a few days now on whether or not to share this story. Oh well, here goes...

Last Monday morning when I woke up, God laid it on my heart to give $100 cash to a friend of mine. There is a long story behind the reasons why, but bottom line, I knew that God wanted me to give it to him. A $100 in not too much money, but it is all the cash that I had. I told Jennifer that God had laid it on my heart to give the money away. I told her that if we were faithful to give this $100, then God would give us $1000 that week. She gave me that WIFE LOOK, but she has learned over the years to go with me when God leads me to do something.

So, on my way to a hospital visit, I stopped by my friend's house and gave him the cash. Of course, he would not accept it. After a little argument over the money, I threw it on his kitchen counter and told him that God laid it on my heart to give him the money. He said that if I left it that he was just going to put it in the offering basket at church. I told him that would be fine. Do whatever God leads you to do.

Then, on Friday evening, a couple from our church dropped by our house and gave us two separate envelopes. They told us that they appreciated all our hard work and the sacrifices that we have made for Graystone. When they left, Jennifer and I opened the envelopes and there was $500 cash in each one...a total of $1000. We cried and were blown away once again by God's faithfulness in our lives.

Guys, I know that this story seems unbelievable. But I could not make this stuff up. As the Rev E.V. Hill said, "If God can get it through you, He will get it to you." You cannot out give God! God wants to bless us, so we can be a blessing to others.
