Wow, I am still blown away that approx 80 middle and high school kids went to Youth Camp last week. I heard that we were the largest group at Look Up Lodge and that we won the basketball tourney...not that I am competitive or anything. I am pumped about the life change that is happening in our student's lives, and I know that God is going to use them to reach many more students for Christ.
Today, 40 rising 4th-6th graders are heading off to Centri-kid at Toccoa Falls. This is the first annual summer kid's camp for Graystone. I am going and am excited about pouring my life into these kids. Many of them, I have coached in softball, baseball, basketball and/or soccer over the years. It will be fun. Dustin Mattox, our Student Pastor, is also going. So, pray that God will give him energy to make it through back to back weeks of summer camp. Please pray for Jennifer as well. She is our fearless leader and will have her hands full with all of us. In fact, my entire family is going with the exception of Jessie. She is in good hands with Donna, but we are going to miss her greatly. THANK YOU, DONNA!
As we leave today, I have a heavy heart for Beckie Sutton and her family. Her condition has deteriorated and she is not responding to the high dosage of steroids. According to her husband, Brian, we need a medical miracle! Let's pray for one.
In His hands,
Johnny
