Graystone's Vision

I have been thinking and praying lately about the vision of Graystone Church. Up until recently, I have not been able to think beyond the new building. This has personally bothered me, because I am a visionary. Jennifer will tell you...I live in the future. I am constantly thinking about how things (in every area of life) could be and should be better. Honestly, this can DRIVE A SPOUSE CRAZY.

Since I have been studying the Parable of the Sower, I have been thinking more about the future of Graystone. I am realizing that God produces fruit/a harvest both individually and collectively as a church family. What type of harvest does God want to produce through Graystone...30 times, 60 times, 100 times? If truth be told, we will never be able to measure the harvest. And I am not sure we are supposed to. God is simply looking for faithfulness and obedience. We plant seeds and water them, but GOD CAUSES THE GROWTH (1 Cor. 3:6-7)!

And I do not think the growth will all assemble under one roof. It will be world-wide and eternity changing! Yes, God has called us to DOMINATE our immediate community with the love of Jesus Christ, but God is also using us to produce fruit in the Dominican Republic, New York City, Brazil, South Africa and God only knows where else. Jim, reminded me yesterday of the vision that God laid on my heart for Graystone Church 6 years ago when we first moved to Grayson, Georgia. Click here to read it.

What part of the vision of Graystone resonates with you?

We dream of being a "launching pad" to the world. We envision raising up leaders, families, and teams to be sent as missionaries to the ends of the earth. We dream of planting hundreds of churches, starting many new ministries, and assisting laborers in the harvest all over the world.

This vision is very well said, and defines what we at Graystone are about.

God gives to us, to give through us. We are so blessed, not because we are good people, but because God is a good God who only wants a willing channel for His blessing.
