Monday Morning

Great service yesterday! I thought the music was great even in spite of the last minute changes. I'm sure Kyle will write about them on the graystone music blog. The last song, King Of All Days, was perfect for closing the service and "sending us out".

Heath and Kyle did a great job with the stage set. Someone even said that with the fish tanks, lights and moving water background on the screen that it looked like I was speaking from under water. This week, it will look like I am in the belly of a giant fish.

The story of Jonah is a great way to kick off the fall. I had several people comment that I kept looking at them when I was talking about "skipping church...drifting away, etc.". As I've said before, "EVERYONE thinks I am looking directly at them and speaking directly to them. I am not, but GOD IS!" This next Sunday, we are going to cover chapter 2 of Jonah and look at "The Psalm of Jonah". We will open up the "altar" for prayer. Every week at church, we need to confess our sins and make sure we are heading in a God-ward direction.

Today is the kid's first day of school. Julia hit the bus stop at 7:20. Joelan's bus does not come until 8:35. Julia has a Vera Bradley backpack. Joelan has an Under Armour backpack. Julia is in the top dog 5th grade class of elementary school (I think she is running for President of Student Council). Joelan is a lowly 6th grader in middle school (Still hard to believe that I have a middle-schooler.). Both have male teachers.

Well, I need to spend some time in prayer and preparation. I have a day of meetings ahead. Before you go, spend some time in prayer (right now) and make sure you are heading in the direction that God wants.
