S.H.A.P.E.

Over the last several weeks at Graystone, we have been studying through the book of Philippians focusing on the common theme of serving. Our prayer to God has been, "Use me...anywhere, anytime, anything". This past Sunday, we talked about serving God and others in our area of "holy discontent". Hopefully, everyone is on the road to finding, feeding and fueling his/her "holy discontent". The ministry that Jim and Melinda Hollandsworth have started at Gwinnett Estates is a great example of "holy discontent". If you missed it, you can listen to Melinda's story in the the middle of my message from Sunday.

Another way to be determine your area of service is through discovering your S.H.A.P.E. Over the years, many have used this acronym for understanding their unique gift-mix for ministry, but it has become popular through Rick Warren, pastor of Saddleback Church and author of The Purpose Driven Life. To determined the area of ministry that God has best SHAPED you, you look at 5 different criteria:

S piritual Gifts
H eart (What are you passionate about?)
A bilities
P ersonality (or Temperament)
E xperiences

Have you discovered your SHAPE?
Are you serving God in the area of ministry that He has uniquely gifted you?
