Sunday Highlights

I was thrilled that we gave such a loud ovation for our Veterans. I did not realize that so many Graystoners served in the military. I am thankful and proud of all of these men and women.

Yesterday was one of the best worship sets in a while. Everyone really seemed to be singing out and worshipping God. I really liked what Erin shared about Romans 8:28 and reminding us not simply to "sing the words".

I loved the Avril Lavigne opener, "Complicated"...I have that question all the time: "Why'd you have to go and make things so complicated?"...I just sung that...glad no one heard it. My office is pretty secluded and quite some distance from the rest of the staff team. That's one reason I do not have to worry about The 6 Most Annoying Coworkers...not my staff team but the ones mentioned in this article.

The bumper video about "Critical People" was funny. Sometimes, I would like to taser a few people.

I received a ton of critical comments about my sermon yesterday...everybody's a comedian.

Also, I have received several compliments about my car, the camry.

I enjoyed the prayer walk/tour of the building. It was neat to see so many people writing prayers and Bible verses on the floors. I am confident that God will be true to his promises. Joelan wrote Matthew 16:18 in the GSM Room and Julia wrote John 3:17. We also wrote a prayer request in Jessie's future room that she would come to know Christ.

Julia draining all her shots at the GAA Basketball Tryouts. This was both good and bad. I was happy for her, but I was not thrilled as the head coach because this pushed her higher in the draft order than I was hoping. You coaches know what I'm talking about. But, we always want our kids to do their best!

The Atlanta Falcons winning and Michael Turner scoring 30 points for the MS Mullets. I need the Broncos to have a good offensive showing against the Steelers tonight, so Football Team (Larry McDaniel's fantasy team which is the lamest, most non-creative name in the history of fantasy football) cannot score 21 points for a come-from-behind victory. If you haven't noticed, "This is the year of the Mullet!"

I am now really fired up about the "Difficult People" series. It seems to be hitting a real felt need. This next Sunday, I will be talking about "Emotional Vampires...those people who suck the life out of you". It should be fun. I guess.
