I was blown away last night at how many people showed up at Graystone Church for our Christmas Eve Services. We had close to 600 people come to celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. PRAISE GOD! About three-fourths of our crowd decided to worship at the 4:00 service. So, needless to say, it was standing room only with every seat taken and approximately 100 folks standing in the back of the auditorium and overflowing into the coffee house. The energy was electric, and I don't think anyone minded the crowd. In fact, it was AWESOME to see that many people crowded together to worship God. I could get used to that every week, but it might draw too much attention from the local fire marshall.
Let me just say that the music was "off the hook" and Kyle and the band did another incredible job of leading us in worshipping the newborn KING. I really appreciate all of our servant leaders (staff, band members, production team, greeters, etc.) who sacrificed so much time on Christmas Eve to partner as a team to communicate the timeless message of Jesus Christ. I trust that many people made decisions last night to receive the greatest Christmas gift of all time--the free gift of God's son that comes already assembled with batteries included and all the accessories: forgiveness of sins, eternal life, salvation in heaven, the power of the Holy Spirit, and adoption into God's family.
Well, I need to get back to my family...we are right in the middle of a big board game of "Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader?" Apparently, I am not.
May you enjoy a special time with your family and always keep Christ the center of your Holiday Season (and every day of the year for that matter).
Merry Christmas 2007!
