Kyle and the band rocked "Wanted Dead or Alive". The video images of Christ playing in the background were moving and powerful.
I loved Art on the 12 string.
Ryan Brooks can flat out sing.
Jesus is The Ultimate Fighter.
The octagon is the best stage set that we have ever had. Props to Kyle (pun intended).
Incredible videos all around yesterday...I teared up during the Rudy clip.
I was surprised at how well the service flowed with all the different elements. I think we have a Production Director in charge of all that.
The 9:30 service was packed! I always get jacked when I look back and see the ushers pulling chairs out of the closet.
I heard that the 2-3 year old room was too packed...20 kids. Jennifer and I are working on a solution here. I'm wondering if we can get the new building built by next Sunday.
There were 518 people in attendance yesterday. That's our largest crowd since May 18 (Baptism Celebration).
I guess the Summer is over. In many ways I am pumped, because there are a lot of new and exciting things happening at Graystone this Fall. This morning, though, I was sad to see the kids heading off to the bus stop for the first day of school.
It was great to see the entire far stage right section filled with youth at the 9:30 service.
We still have plenty of room to grow in the 11:00 service...at least in the auditorium.
The lady at the barber shop cut my hair WAY too short. But it did keep looking better and better the more she cut. I think she just got off to a slow start.
I heard in passing yesterday that we probably weren't closing on the loan for the new building or getting the building permit this week. I'm afraid to ask when the new actual day of breaking ground is going to be. I'm not down on anyone. It is just a LONG process.
We had a big weekend with my brother and his family: Stone Mountain, ball park, pool, good eats and cool treats.
I'm enjoying the Olympics. I am convinced that there is an Olympic event (or we can create one) that I am better than anyone else in the world. If I can discover my hidden talent, I plan to compete in the 2012 Olympic games...as long as I do not have to make any kind of time commitment to practice, because my schedule is already FULL.
I cannot wait to see where the $45,000 comes from for the down payment on the 7 acres.
Jessie is almost 2 months old.
Thanks for letting me download (I feel 5 pounds lighter.),
Johnny
PS Here's a pic of Joelan and Julia with their cousins at Stone Mountain.

PSS Jennifer and Jim have both tried to correct my spelling of HNL (Hole Nuttha Level). I do know the difference between whole and hole. That is what makes the saying HNL (Hole Nuttha Level) so funny. It's really frustrating that I have to explain myself here to the sirius ones.

You are so very funny. Maybe not what a preacher wants to hear after getting all fired up yesterday. The service was wonderful -- and I enjoyed the macho picture you painted of Jesus. I sure enjoyed your blog tonight and love the way you ramble on about Graystone, you and your family. Keep up the good work. God will most definately provide the $45K that we need. Thanks bunches - Kathy Bohn
